Connie L.S. Simon, OTR/CHT/CMTP
- Occupational Therapist Registered
- Certified Hand Therapist
- Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist
Connie has treated individuals with traumatic injuries, repetitive strain issues, acute and chronic pain, limited mobility and strength with modifications of daily living tasks and workstations to minimize physical stressors. Her focus is to empower each patient to be able to control their challenges independently with individualized assessments, treatment plans, and education.
- Modalities - use of heat/cold, electrical current and ultrasound to facilitate the body to heal.
- Pain management - techniques to facilitate a decrease in the need for pain medication and allow the patient to resume more normal activity.
- Dry needling - technique that addresses trigger points that create taut bands within a muscle that may cause pain as as limited movement. Also used to release adhered scars.
- Myofascial release - used to free up tight fascia by applying sustained pressure into the restriction. As the fascia is released the patient gains greater flexibility, decrease pain, enhanced daily function and improved structural balance.
- Functional movement therapy - when we deal with pain, injury and repetitive trauma we often develop abnormal movement patterns which limit our ability to heal. Functional movement focuses on re-educating muscles that may have forgotten how to move or work too hard.
- Individualized treatment and home exercise programs - patients will be provided with individualize assessments and custom developed home programs to increase patient ability to control their pain symptoms independently.
